The Real Estate Institute

During my life, I have been blessed with the opportunity to learn about this world from a global perspective. As a student at Seton Hall University, I attained a degree in Business Management. It was during this period that I developed my love for economics, managing a team, and methods of negotiation. While studying abroad at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China, I was afforded the honor of learning from two separate Nobel Peace Prize winners for economics. Each would inevitably open my eyes to business on a global scale. Next I was given the chance to attend the University of Richmond, London in Florence, Italy. While studying in Florence, I was able to gain a European perspective on world trade, economics, and life. I was also able to build on my knowledge of fine art, literature, and architecture. Most recently, I traveled to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula where I was able to study the Mayan culture, hands on, at Chichen Itza. It was amazing to witness the structural and cultural achievements of such a primitive culture.

As you can imagine, each part of the world that I have studied has added to who I have become. Although each place was different, there is one major characteristic that I have observed in each culture. The individuals, groups, or societies that have become recognized for greatness have all sought higher learning. From the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates who studied economic theory, until they were able to create their own, all the way back to the Mayan culture, who created architecture in perfect alignment to the winter and summer solstice; each master of their field was driven to this mastery by their passion to become better educated and efficient.

I have grown to intensely admire this characteristic because without it, our lives would not exist as we know them. In fact, it is this motivation for understanding and further education, which propels me forward in real estate. I notice that real estate professionals begin their career among a crowd of other Realtors. To become successful, is first to become noticed. Home buyers, sellers, investors, builders, and the community must first acknowledge your expertise over the crowd you were once a part of. Once they legitimately acknowledge your skill and begin to request your expertise, you are able to fulfill their real estate needs.

The question then becomes, “How do I, as a Realtor, step away from the crowd to further distinguish myself as an expert in my field?” To find that answer I needed to look into my past. How did Michelangelo become known for sculpture or painting? Simple, he learned the art and then made it his own. I have been studying real estate for sometime and although I may not know everything, I am proficient at what I know. In fact, I am proficient enough to make it my own and create a new source for real estate information

I decided that I will begin to research common real estate topics found on millions of sites world wide. The difference, however, is that my findings will be completely unique documents. I will analyze and provide the data necessary, to better educate the public and other Realtors alike. I hope that my findings will provide you with a source of real estate insight unparalleled on the web. I also hope that my work will inspire others to develop their own real estate research. So much so, that I would happily post any piece of work, I deem exceptional, onto this page as well. I, of course, would also acknowledge the author by stating his/her contact information. Keep in mind; it is this push towards higher education, which will benefit everyone seeking real estate information. I hope you enjoy my work and I look forward to hearing any comments you may have.

Welcome to the Real Estate Institute.

Sincerely,

Michael Pennisi

The Real Estate Institute's Initial Collection of Work

  • For Sale By Owner or Realtor? - An in depth study on the opportunity cost of selling a home without a real estate professional versus the commission costs of a Realtor. This article incorporates actual data and real life statistics to build a conclusive study on the best way to sell your home.
